If I had a pound for every time someone said, “I just want to stay in control during labour,” I’d be able to buy the entire stock of biscuits in Lidl.

But here’s the thing—birth isn’t about control; it’s about trust. Trusting your body, trusting your instincts, trusting your baby. Birth works best when you surrender to it, not when you try to fight it.

Think about it—when was the last time you truly relaxed while trying to untangle a necklace with pure frustration? The more you pull and stress over it, the tighter the knots get.

Birth is the same. The more you let go, the more you let your body do what it’s designed to do.

So, if you’re in Belfast and want to prepare for birth without fear, let’s chat. A wee Power Hour with me could be just what you need to feel more ready and less panicked to navigate the system.
